App for trip planning named “Trips”  for iPhones and Android users.

This app for trip planning named “Trips” has been launched for iPhones and Android users as well. It is free and claims to helps organize travel itinerary with information like flight tickets and hotel reservations neatly assembled in one place.

It basically collects all the travel info from a Gmail account and accordingly shows the result.

Google’s research showed that nearly 74 % of travelers feel that the most stressful part of travel is figuring out all the details. The company planned out this app to make traveling an enjoyable and stress-free experience. Or at least that Googles opinion.

Apart from organizing tickets and making hotel reservations, the app also offers a personalized tour guide to top 200 cities around the world.  It also offers personalized recommendations like  popular sights, attractions, and local sightseeing spots based on your Google history. Unlike many other travel apps that require internet, Trips works even offline.

What are the most important features of the travel app?

It literally brings all the info in one place and saves you from the hassle of digging up through your  emails for tickets, hotel and rental car reservation.

It save on your internet data as it also works offline, so you can download your itinerary without internet connection.

If you want to check your next flight, it gives you the departure time, the terminal and sometimes even the gate. Checking your hotel it even provides a map.

Google Trips  allows you to download your whole tour and easily save it in your smartphone.

Is it the best trip app? While India has large number of travel apps available in Play Store already (like Cleartrip, MakeMyTrip and Tripigator) the Google Trips is neatly designed and may appeal to a lot of travelers.
